Welcome to Module #2
Apply Course (Re)Design Frameworks

Introduction

There are a number of frameworks informed by research that serve as guidelines or conceptual maps for (re)designing a course. Two such frameworks that complement each other well in the design process are Backward Design (BD) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL). In this module, each will be explored as they are the approaches used in this guide.

Why do it?

Frameworks are important in course design because they promote a systematic and intentional approach, ensuring that the learning experience is purposeful, coherent, and effective in achieving the desired educational objectives.

Learning outcomes

Learning Outcome #2: Understand course design frameworks that can work cohesively to support student success.
