Presentation Abstract

Patrick will share his insight on working as a traffic engineer and at a traffic technology company. Patrick will discuss times he has “felt uncomfortable” taking on a new project or a new role, and how he has grown professional from these experiences. Examples include: Taking over as a Project Manager, Getting Involved in Professional Societies, and Changing Careers.

Speaker Bio

Patrick Marnell, P.E. is a project manager at Q-Free and specializes in helping people build and deploy advanced traffic signal systems. Additionally, he works with a talented team of software engineers drive development of traffic signal system software that provides innovate solutions to the needs of agencies across North America and world. Prior to joining Q-Free, Patrick spent 5 years as a consultant engineer at Kittelson and Associates. He is currently the Western District ITE Technical Chair, a member of the Oregon Traffic Control Device Committee, and a past-president of Oregon ITE. Patrick is an OSU Alumni with a B.S.(2008) and M.S. (2013).
