- Accurately interpret and transcibe herbarium specimen labels.
- Utilize diverse tools to add geographic coordinates to historic and recent herbarium specimens.
- Understand the role of herbarium specimen databases in biodiversity research.
Evaluation of Student Performance:
The course is pass / no pass. Every other Monday, students will submit a journal entry summarizing the number and types of specimens transcribed or georeferenced the previous two weeks. There is no set target number of specimens, but students are expected to devote 3 hours per week to the class. The course can count towards 30 hours of Experiential Learning for the Botany major.
With the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, I understand that schedules need to be flexible. If you need an accommodation or extension for any reason, please do not hesitate to ask.
