Semana 4: Spontaneous Speech Practice-Mis últimas vacaciones

Due Monday of Week 5

Objective: The purpose of this activity is to practice your ability to speak spontaneously in response to questions or prompts. Scripted speaking will not be accepted on this activity. You will not be graded on having perfect grammar but rather on your ability to understand the questions/prompts and to make your responses understood. Please view the Spontaneous Speech Practice Rubric before beginning this assignment.

Read the instructions carefully before beginning: Once you open the quiz, you will have a total of 20 minutes to complete the activity.  Your recording should be 1.5-2 minutes long. Shorter or longer recordings will not be accepted. Follow these instructions:

1. Before beginning, review the preterite on page 197 of your book.
2. You will need to complete a video recording for this assignment.  You will use Kaltura, the Canvas recording tool to create your video. Make sure you are familiar with the process for creating a video in Kaltura before you begin the quiz. 
3. Click on "Take the Quiz".  This will start the 20 minute timer. 
4. Listen to the 29 second recording. You don't have to answer all the questions. These are just prompts to get you thinking and talking. 
5. Think about how you want to respond. You may want to take some quick notes or listen to the prompt a few times.  Remember that the timer is running though!
6. Respond to the questions and prompts in a 1.5-2 minute long recording.  Please do not submit longer or shorter recordings. You don't have to answer all the questions in the prompt but try to stay on topic and keep talking.
