ACTIVITY C: Content Development/Curation Plan
- Due No Due Date
- Points None
Purpose
This activity will provide you with an opportunity to draft plans for curating and developing content for your course.
Instructions
Plan to spend about 10 minutes on this activity.
If you are attending a workshop scheduled for your college, you will complete these activities in preparation for a synchronous session with the Keep Teaching team. If you are exploring this workshop on your own, complete the activity and then schedule a time to meet with one of your support resources if you have follow-up questions or need assistance in your planning.
Choose one of your fall term courses to focus on for this activity.
Review your course's learning outcomes and the other planning activities you have done in this workshop thus far. Then, map out responses to the following questions:
- What content will you deliver synchronously? What content will you deliver asynchronously (if any)?
- Of the content that you will need to delivery asynchronously:
- Are there web content sources that you can curate content from?
- What content (if any) will you need to create yourself? How will you create it?
- Thinking about accessibility, what concrete steps can you take to help ensure that the type(s) of content you plan to use in your course is accessible? (Remember: some accessibility measures may need to be put in place in partnership with Disability Access Services.)
- Thinking about universal design, what opportunities do you have to leverage different types of content so that students have multiple options for encountering content (e.g., you post a short video you created and your written script, so students can either watch the video or read the script)?
- Will you need to distinguish between required content and supplemental content so that students are clear what content is the highest priority? How and where will you provide that information to students?
